What you will be doing

The SAP Ariba Administrator II is responsible for maintaining the ongoing reliability, performance, management and support of SAP Ariba platform services. Responsibilities include managing applications and systems, responding to problems and planning for growth. This responsibility may include migration tasks such as change request review, software build coordination, release documentation, production issue resolution and tracking report distribution. Administrators must also understand the business implications of application and system problems allowing them to appropriately set severity levels when problems do occur. Application Administrators monitor the performance of system applications. Individuals execute contingency plans in case of system outages, troubleshoot a wide variety of technical problems and provide Level II support to the Help Desk. In addition, these roles participate in projects to implement new application services and features

  • Develop and implement a forward-looking roadmap for SAP Ariba in close partnership with the global procurement team to support business goals.

  • Lead the administration of SAP Ariba, including user access management, configuration setup, and customization to meet diverse regional requirements.

  • Engage proactively with global procurement stakeholders to gather insights, prioritize system enhancements, and address cross-functional challenges within SAP Ariba.

  • Manage the coordination of system upgrades, patches, and integrations with other enterprise applications while ensuring minimal disruption to global operations.

  • Monitor key performance indicators within SAP Ariba, conduct data analysis, and provide actionable recommendations for continuous improvement across regions.

  • Act as a liaison between IT teams, SAP Ariba vendors, and the global procurement team to facilitate effective communication channels and resolve technical issues promptly on a worldwide scale.

  • Works on multiple, moderate to high complex projects as a project team member and as a technical leader.

  • Maintains application and Ariba platform health, availability, and stability

  • May work with production team to schedule production release updates and upgrades.

  • Supports integration of changes in test, pre-production and production environments.

  • Works with production quality assurance/testing team to ensure appropriate level of testing has been completed prior to implementation of change.

  • Ensures the performance and reliability of the system or application.

  • Defines procedures and technical design for user access and administration Responds to escalated system problems.

  • Monitors and maintains a comprehensive set of performance metrics for all system features.

  • Identifies risk levels and recommends and implements corrective/preventive actions.

  • Maintains history reports, identifies and addresses re-occurring problems.

  • May develop online help and update systems support help scripts.

  • Participates in, or may lead, peer knowledge sharing groups.

  • Counsels users on technology changes that will impact work processes. Prepares documentation for customer support, such as software configurations and network configurations.

What your background should look like

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.

  • Typically has seven (7) or more years of business and/or relevant technical experience.

  • Three (3) or more years experience with SAP Ariba Network / Sourcing / Discovery / Business Network Buyer / Contract Mgmt.

  • Ability to be the Ariba platform SME across the Enterprise

  • Experience with systems and database administration.

  • Requires skills in multiple technical environments and knowledge of a specific business area.

  • Strong organization skills

  • Good analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

  • Exceptional customer service skills

  • Good interpersonal skills; solid team player

  • Ability to play a lead role in technology projects

  • Exceptional customer service skills

  • Ability to travel up to 15% if needed

$95,800 - 147,620

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
