Job Overview

The Safety Specialist of Service will partner with Enterprise Transportation Safety in the development, execution and accountability of safety/compliance programs, processes, policies etc.

Highlights of your role
    Monitor and assist to ensure adherence safety benchmarks/metrics through safety technology and leadership engagement- Geotab, Samsara, Fleetio, Wex.
  • Assist in communication of daily/weekly/monthly safety reporting as required, as well as Safety Roundtable discussions and regional meetings safety data trends.
  • Assists to assure monthly safety training completion across operation.
  • Assists to develop ongoing training and communication of safety topics related to current risk and safety trends.
  • Monitor completion of assigned OSHA 10 training.
  • Assist field personnel with vehicle accident and injury reporting in Origami.
  • Lead incident investigations and follow up closure of correction action items! Provide updates to leadership related to investigation outcome and planned actions.
  • Become established Train-the-Trainer for PACE Defensive Driver program.
  • Partner with leadership and Safety for ongoing development and delivery of new employee orientation.
  • Assist to conduct jobsite observations and vehicle inspections for safety compliance.
  • Monitors vehicle assets and overall health of fleet based on maintenance adherence and repairs.
  • Assists with DOT compliance.
  • 30% travel is required.

You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)
  • A bachelor's degree in safety, risk management, or an equivalent field is desired.
  • 2-4 years' experience preferred.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and enforce safety programs and protocols.
  • Skill in developing safety procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Also want to make sure you have
  • A valid Driver's License is required.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local safety regulations, protocols, and/or procedures.
  • Skill in performing safety inspections ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT, and NFPA safety standards.
  • Strong focus on safety and a desire towards continuous improvement and risk mitigation.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
