Compensation: $46,978.82 - $50,916.00 (Grant funded salary range is non-negotiable)

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the overall performance and management of the Titans UP! program providing oversight for the Florida Postsecondary Comprehensive Transition Program (FPCTP) grant, for the day-to-day operations of the program, and for ensuring that all elements of the program are in compliance with grant guidelines.

The Titans UP! program is an inclusive, non-degree seeking certificate program offering a college experience to students with intellectual disabilities at St. Petersburg College. This position oversees the program and supports the three-pronged focus for students of the program: on-campus activities and academics, independent living skills, and student employment. The goal, for students, is to experience a well-rounded, fully inclusive, modified college experience while gaining the skills needed to transition to independent adult roles and into the workplace.

This position may also lead projects from concept to proposal submission and/or grant award; provide support for related processes and initiatives such as data management and student recruitment; coordinate related operations and activities; schedule steps; conduct related training; oversee assigned staff; coordinate relationships with the community; monitor budgets; and produce required reports.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Will work with intellectually disabled students with an IQ of 70 or below at the Clearwater and Seminole campuses, with potential for program expansion within Pinellas County.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Recruits, interviews, and works with review team to accept and enroll intellectually disabled students in the Titans UP program.
  2. Recruits, hires, and manages Academic Coaches (Instructional Support Specialists), Peer Mentor Facilitators, Peer Mentors, and Student Assistants.
  3. Plans and implements curriculum-based independent living and self-determination workshops for intellectually disabled students.
  4. Oversees FPCTP Scholarship awards.
  5. Coordinates with Grants Accountant to monitor financial matters of the program such as contractors' invoices, books, fees, tuition, and project deliverables.
  6. Prepares required FPCTP records including quarterly reports, annual performance report, student and program information reports, and tracks graduating student information for five years out.
  7. Prepares, reviews, and submits a variety of communications, contracts, or schedules.
  8. Cultivates and maintains internal and external relationships.
  9. Participates in a variety of meetings, presentations, and advocacy groups to represent the Titans UP program.
  10. Uses a variety of computer software applications including Office suite and online meeting formats.
  11. Attends two FPCTP conferences in Orlando annually.

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in a related field to assigned area.

Experience:

Three (3) years experience in a field relating to the project assigned. Community relations and teaching experience preferred.

* An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be acceptable in lieu of those requirements listed above.

Physical:

  • Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
