Job Summary

The Executive Director of JHACH Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Site Services is a highly skilled and innovative thinker who is responsible for the strategic alignment and direction of the daily activities and performance of the (pre AR) revenue cycles associated with hospital and professional services patient encounter activity primarily at The Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital. They oversee revenue cycle process improvement work at JHACH for both professional and hospital billing and act as the key revenue cycle liaison for cross-functional strategic initiatives within the ACH site(s) and JHM. This position serves as the RCM executive contact for JHACH clinical institute, hospital operations, and financial leaders. The Executive Director directs the overall policies, objectives, and initiatives of the organization's revenue cycle activities to optimize patient financial experience along the care continuum. Other primarily responsibilities include monitoring key financial metrics across areas of responsibility, understanding root causes of adverse variances, developing and overseeing the execution of mitigation strategies, and proactively communicating outcomes and issues to interested or affected areas from identification to resolution. Ensures alignment with revenue cycle policy, initiatives, and best practices across the broader Johns Hopkins organization. In partnership with Johns Hopkins Medicine leadership, directs and oversees the core revenue cycle processes and outcomes to enhance the patient experience, achieve the best possible outcomes, support revenue cycle and financial improvement and drive performance.

This position is responsible for direct oversight of professional billing and hospital utilization & care management functions and is primary liaison for revenue cycle activities at the Johns Hopkins All Children's sites. The incumbent will report to enterprise revenue cycle management and JHACH Chief Financial Officer.

Champions standardization of enterprise-wide revenue cycle processes and procedures and ensures appropriateness it relates to revenue capture and reimbursement.

The Director will work with key stakeholders to achieve consensus in high stakes conversations, employing a collaborative style, to deliver successful outcomes including but not limited to ensuring high level patient experience and key operational and financial metrics which will demonstrate consistent excellent results in all of the areas of responsibility.

Qualifications

  • Requires Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. A Master's Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or Information Management is preferred.
  • CRCE/CMPA/CHFP certification preferred, leadership role in industry organizations such as HFMA, AAHAM, or Florida Hospital Association strongly encouraged
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of hospital access/registration and receivables/operations management experience within a large academic medical center or health system, including 5-7 years of management experience with significant business impact.
  • Prior work experience must include patient access/registration and revenue cycle management projects and/or responsibilities, and a significant role in a redesign project and/or management experience working in a highly automated, centralized business office environment.
  • Experience in using team building and quality management concepts to positively influence the work environment.
