What We DoThe Systems Administrator role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organizational functions. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, patching, and optimizing all networked software and associated operating systems. The Systems Administrator will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.

Essential Functions

  • Process new server hardware requests from the business through the lifecycle of each request.
  • Perform physical rack and stack of new HPE Server Hardware
  • Perform additional hardware installation including but not limited to adding memory, Drives, NIC and HBA Cards.
  • Provide support, troubleshooting, and resolution to all hardware related issueson HPE servers within established SLA's.
  • Work with internal IT teams to resolve issues with HBA.
  • Work with remote co-location sites to facilitate installation and support of HPE Servers.
  • Work with internal teams to facilitate remote site cabling, installation, and removal of HPE Server hardware at remote first American site locations.
  • Maintain Server asset tracking database of All FA servers and hardware. (MACD as needed.)
  • Manage HPE OneView OS Hardware monitoring System.
  • Monitor HPE Server Hardware at all First American sites.
  • Manage all work assignments through FA ServiceNow platform for all assigned requests, incidents, and tasks within established SLA's.
  • Ensure HPE Server infrastructure firmware, driver, licensing, and software packages are updated as required.
  • Work with internal FA Networking teams for network configuration and IP reservations
  • Monitor internal communication methods including assigned ques(s) for all Hardware P2 - P1 issues and see those issues through to remediation.
  • Primary contact for HPE Server Hardware issues
  • Primary contact for all vendor issues related to server hardware.
  • Primary contact for internal HPE Server contract reviews.
  • Collaborate with HPE Support and FATCO Enterprise Operations team to remediate HPE server related issues.
  • Work with HPE Support on resolution on all HPE Hardware within the enviroment within establish SLA's. (Log calls and point of Contact.)
  • Verify HPE (Vender) work is successfully completed within established SLA's and notify internal customers/owners.
  • Provides guidance and support to internal and external customers on server/storage infrastructure services and workflow processes.
  • Required to provide on-call support during off-duty hours on weekdays, weekends, and holidays (24/7) for any HPE Server issues at all FA and Remote site locations.
  • Required to perform duties outside of normal work hours based on business needs.
  • Some travel may be required as needed based off project and business needs.

Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used

Windows Server Administrators:

  • Proficiency in Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office Applications
  • Proficiency in supporting and managing server hardware within an enterprise enviroment.
  • Proficiency in ILO configuration and support for HPE servers
  • Proficiency in RAID storage and configuration
  • Strong knowledge of HPE OneView to monitor all HPE hardware at Firstam sites.
  • Familiarity of Server OS image deployment using SCCM task sequencing to apply base OS and configurations.
  • Strong knowledge of networking and port configuration.
  • General knowledge of VMware and Hyper-V virtualization technologies.
  • General knowledge of Storage Area Networks as it relates to Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Basic analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot infrastructure problems specific to their area of technical expertise.
  • Demonstrate problem solving skills to ensure quick and efficient problem resolution.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing excellent customer service.
  • Understanding of the Service Now Platform.
  • Good organizational and coordinating skills
  • General analytical skills
  • Good time management skills

Typical Education

  • Generally requires BS Degree or equivalent work experience


Typical Range of Experience

  • Typically 3-5 years of hands-on technical experience supporting some combination of X86 server, storage and networking infrastructure.
  • 3-5 years working with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Citrix, or Hyper-V.


License or Certification

  • Desired Certifications:

  • VMware, Citrix, or Hyper-V virtualization technologies

Pay Range: $33.60 - $55.60 Hourly

This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
