Mott MacDonald is seeking a senior project manager to lead and develop our Transportation/Highways design group in the Central Florida region. As a Principal Project Manager, you will be responsible for various leadership, project management, and engineering design/review duties on transportation/highways projects.

More specifically, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Works on civil engineering infrastructure projects and tasks in the field of transportation/highways
• Performs assignments using standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks.
• Will support and lead integrated cross-discipline teams solving complex technical problems on some of Florida's most significant transportation/highways projects.
• Manage project staff and design consultants to keep projects on budget and schedule and within agreed upon scope. Oversees technical scopes of work and conducts technical engineering reviews.
• Performs tasks that include preparation of designs and calculations for rail and transit engineering projects.
• Gathers and maintains specified records of engineering data such as tests, drawings, etc. and gathers field data. Participates with senior leaders in the establishment of short- and long-term plans for the transportation/highways practice.
• Participates actively in and supporting internal and external development and training activities.

Candidate Specification :

• We invite applications from candidates with the following experience:
• Ideal candidates shouldhave a BS in Civil Engineering and 15+ years of experience on transportation projects.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressiveexperience with design and/or project/program management for FDOT and/or other Florida transportation/highway agencies is preferred.
• Experience may include preliminary and/or final design of general civil engineering, utilities, highways and bridges.
• Must have a Florida Professional Engineer license.
• Be able to mentor and help develop Junior and Intermediate engineers. Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining client relations.
• Candidate should be familiar with model-based design utilizing various CAD software programs.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and leading a team is very important for this role.
• Desire to work with multiple agencies to develop projects in a collaborative fashion.
