How You'll Contribute to the Team:

The SVP, Capital Markets evaluates strategic growth opportunities to determine financial viability. This role serves as the internal lead for executing the strategy for corporate development work and is responsible for due diligence, negotiating and closing acquisition and development projects, raising equity capital and debt financing, and forming and maintaining joint venture relationships. This role requires strong problem solving and financial modeling skills, ability to balance multiple priorities and effectively communicate with key internal and external stakeholders.

While the role is remote, we prefer to hire selected candidates from the following states: AL, FL, GA, IN, KS, LA, MA, MD, MI, NC, NE, OK, RI, TN, WI and TX.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for evaluation and execution of growth opportunities and other corporate development projects, including acquisitions, investments, strategic initiatives, and partnerships.
  • Support the maintenance and development of capital modeling capabilities to support and guide thinking on strategic opportunities and deliver key model outputs, including solvency capital requirement (SCR) submissions.
  • Conduct market, industry and company research and analyses to influence decision-making, and identify and prioritize acquisition/joint venture targets and opportunities.
  • Interpret and analyze highly complex data using business acumen in order to derive key insights. Verify the quality, accuracy, and reasonableness of data. Display, organize, and craft data into a compelling storyline with actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Build relationships with investment banks and work with cross functional teams to coordinate and manage capital raising processes and debt financing projects.
  • Provide analytical thought leadership and lead project management during the deal process, including coordination with all market and functional experts on due diligence and integration workplans as well as negotiation and definitive transaction documents.
  • Participate in the preparation of deal related documentation in coordination with the Legal team and internal stakeholders and manage communication and deal updates throughout the process.
  • Support post-merger integration planning and execution working with teams on both sides to drive seamless execution.
  • Develop capital models and risk-management processes, consistent with the company's risk management framework.
  • Assist in preparing Executive Leadership / Investment Committee deliverables and communications.
  • Apply financial knowledge and skills to assist Corvias leadership team with strategic corporate initiatives and special projects.
  • Support Corvias business development team in evaluating investment opportunities to determine financial viability and provide creative partnering solutions aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Role Specific Requirements Include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. MBA required; CFA preferred.
  • 15+ years' experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or corporate strategy. Analyst experience with public private partnerships, energy and/or real estate transactions helpful.
  • M&A experience leading a transaction in either deal execution, commercial due diligence/ M&A strategy or financial due diligence.
  • Demonstrable business sophistication and financial aptitude necessary to negotiate business terms, perform due diligence, and evaluate growth opportunities.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills necessary to resolve complex or ambiguous situations amid tight timelines and high client expectations.
  • Familiarity with project finance required, including demonstrable understanding of different types of capital, financial structures, and the rating agency process.
  • Demonstrated expertise creating and interpreting financial models used for analysis and valuation, such as scenario modeling, debt sizing, discounted cash flow, and present value analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate technical information and translate complex concepts into impactful statements for a variety of audiences and levels of sophistication.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with individuals of diverse backgrounds and at all organizational levels, including the ability to influence and negotiate.
  • Demonstrated history of building strategic relationships aligned on goals and focused on creating value for clients.
  • Must be independent, self-motivated and possess a positive attitude, operating well in a team environment that is focused on collaboration, accountability, and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple priorities while being attentive to details.
  • High level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is required.
  • Ability to act with integrity, honesty, and professionalism at all times.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
