The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the day to day activities of a fast-paced operation. This involves training and directing the work of operators in the functions of shipping/receiving, pick/pack, material handling and movement of product throughout the facility. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for managing work to specified productivity, cost and quality standards. Additionally, this person will facilitate site safety programs, team member development, equipment maintenance, and management of a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and will be leading cost down & improvement projects in a team environment.

Your responsibilities

  • Initiate actions in support of corporate and plant safety goals and initiatives
  • Thoroughly investigate (quality) Uparrs, NMs, FAs and UAs and implement systemic corrective actions
  • Create departmental culture valuing customer service
  • Cultivate relationships and utilize data tools to meet or beat scheduled shipping and receiving goals
  • Adhere to quality and work instruction plan
  • Effect prompt corrective action for all customer complaints
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and transport companies
  • Acquire and apply lean tools in support of continuous improvement in safety, throughput, costs and quality
  • Keep work area clean and orderly
  • Respect plant equipment and avoid or prevents hazardous conditions from developing
  • Wear appropriate protective equipment as required, dress and conduct self in a safe manner
  • Participate in plant safety initiatives and programs
Your background

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • 5 plus years of direct supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in and knowledge of warehouse/distribution center supervision
  • Demonstrated effective leadership and ability to obtain results through others in a warehouse/DC operation, including ability to develop staff
  • Ability to prepare action plans spanning 30-60 days and achieve results
  • Experience and proficiency in warehouse capacity planning and systemic stocking space allocation
  • Intermediate level of problem analysis and resolution, planning and organizing skills
  • Experience and proficiency in applying Lean/Six Sigma in a warehouse environment
  • Ability to use on-floor reporting systems including, keyboard, LX, KBM, TOPs, KRONOS, SAP and the intranet
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
