As a Datacenter Security Operations Manager in Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) Physical Security, you will be part of a team dedicated to delivering the most trustworthy security program to protect the personnel, infrastructure, data, and confidential information of our customers. You will lead a team of vendor security personnel in protecting Microsoft datacenters - providing vital support to U.S. Government customers. Partnering with a variety of stakeholders, you will ensure the excellence of secure operations, incident response, and emergency planning at Microsoft's most secure datacenter facilities (and other facilities as needed). You will also be required to anticipate site specific insecurity and security disruption (e.g., life safety, business operations, reputation) and lead discussions on developing strategies for mitigating risks. You will communicate risk analysis findings and root cause analysis reports to internal and external stakeholders and leaders. The Datacenter Security Operations Manager must reside in the area near the assigned datacenter, work from the datacenter daily, and be able to respond quickly to an emergency. The Air Gapped Cloud (AGC) Datacenter Physical Security organization works closely the National Security Team, Assurance, Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) & Program Protection teams to meet the rigorous standards of our U.S. Government partners to create the safest and most secure cloud computing environments anywhere, enabling the mission-critical capabilities needed to keep our nation at the forefront of technology. ResponsibilitiesSecurity Program ManagementLead a vendor security team and ensure their accountability to the AGC Standard Operating Procedures. Maintain the physical security of assigned datacenters focused on enabling a trustworthy physical computing environment that protects customer data, people, and critical infrastructure facilities Function as a physical security subject matter expert who can stand on their own to deliver work and represent the team, as well as lead their team to success through delegationWith minimal assistance, performs analysis to detect security threats, alerts, or risks and escalates to critical incident response team and/or external authorities, if necessary. Implements security protocols to support the physical protection of company personnel and assets. Deliver and maintains security programs in assigned areas of responsibility. Advocate for critical security programs with datacenter operations personnel, Facility Security Officers, and other Microsoft stakeholders to ensure secure, continuous operations, while maintaining a One Microsoft, one team environment Security LeadershipReceive escalations/notifications of physical security and business impacting events and appropriately triage, ensure that leadership is informed as appropriate and that the necessary personnel for managing an incident respond effectively.On-call 24x7x365 and will travel periodically as planned or unplanned within or outside of assigned city/metropolitan area. Respond in person to a local site within 1 hour of critical incidents, if necessary, to provide leadership and oversight of the security response With minimal supervision, contributes to collaborative efforts with stakeholders to support security capabilities. Supports risk identification for datacenter insecurity and security disruption (e.g., life safety, business operations, reputation) to assist decision-makers in mitigating risks and responding to residual risks.
