Lakeview Center (LCI) provides comprehensive behavioral health care to adults and children with mental illnesses, drug and alcohol dependencies and intellectual disabilities. Across Northwest Florida, our services range from residential treatment to outpatient counseling, psychiatry, trauma care, treatments for substance misuse and 24/7 support for those with serious mental illnesses. The Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) of Lakeview Center serves as an acute-care inpatient psychiatric facility for persons with mental health or co-occurring disorders from Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties. The CSU is 24-hour hour continuous operations unit that serves voluntary clients as well as individuals admitted to the facility under the Baker Act or Marchman Act. The unit serves individuals 18 years of age and older. Services are designed and implemented to support the recovery, health or well-being of the persons or families served, to reduce symptoms, or needs, and to build resilience and restore, or improve functioning.

Overview:

The Peer Specialist functions as a member of a multidisciplinary team to provide peer support, advocacy, coaching, mentoring, behavior modeling, assistance, and guidance for clients. Promote positive and collaborative relations with team members and the community. Attend available training to increase skills specific to mental health and substance abuse populations. Actively participate and contribute in staff meetings, supervision, quality reviews, and monitoring activities. Maintain positive, timely, and effective communication with patients, families, team members, external and internal resource providers, referral sources, and community providers.

Qualifications:

* Must have a high school diploma or GED.
* Lived an experience in at least one of the following areas:
o As an adult who has been in recovery for a minimum of two (2) years from a substance use or mental health condition.
o As a family member or caregiver to another individual who has or is in recovery from substance use or mental health condition.
o As a veteran of the armed forces who has been in recovery for a minimum of two (2) years from a substance use or mental health condition.
* Preferred to have completed certified peer specialist training and/or be willing to complete as a condition of employment.
* Must be able to use a computer.
* Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.
* Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside, a good driving record and be insurable under the corporate policy.

Compensation:

Base pay ranges from $15.00 - $16.12 an hour based on experience with an additional supplemental pay (up to 8% of base pay) for the Crisis Stabilization Unit.
