Job Description

About the Role:

As an Entry-Level Sales Tax Associate at TD SYNNEX, you'll step into a pivotal role supporting the Tax Supervisor and Sr. Manager in coordinating the sales tax certificate process. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around ensuring compliance with established parameters to minimize potential tax exposure for TD SYNNEX and its subsidiaries. You'll also be involved in assisting with sales/use tax audit preparation, research, and resolution of tax-related issues to help mitigate overall tax liability for the company. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong customer service skills to begin their career journey in the finance sector.

What You'll Do:

  • Assist management in monitoring the CIS order screens and initiating/responding to interdepartmental contacts.

  • Aid in training the sales tax staff and reviewing/resolving discrepancies on customer accounts and tax documentation.

  • Prepare and maintain reports, special projects, and duties as assigned by management, including self-audits, sales and use audits.

  • Act as a liaison with various departments and customers to address sales tax issues.

  • Maintain flexibility working with state compliance guidelines and stay updated on current state guidelines for all 50 states and Canada.

  • Assist management with special projects, audit research, and compilation of customer data for presentation to auditors.

What We're Looking For:

  • Ability to assimilate research data from various sources, analyze information, and recommend appropriate courses of action.

  • Ability to perform effectively under stress and pressure, effectively managing high workloads and meeting deadlines.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and courteously with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proficient in executing instructions, expressing ideas clearly, and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • Basic mathematical skills, organizational abilities, and proficiency in relevant computer applications.

  • An associate degree in business or a related field is preferred, along with customer service experience.

  • Experience in leading/directing workflow of others is advantageous.
