Procurement Specialist, Indirect & Transportation

SUMMARY: As part of a leading global aerospace distributor, this position is part of a Supply Chain and Logistics team responsible for all indirect procurement of the organization, driving cost control and value creation, and managing supplier and carrier relationships. It will require a detail-oriented self-starter with exceptional Business Intelligence, supplier management, negotiation and analytical skills. This includes all general expenses as well as freight costs associated with incoming/outgoing shipments.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Independently build and implement cost saving strategies to help scale globally.
  • Negotiation of agreements with multiple suppliers/vendors to support all sites worldwide.
  • Customize analysis to show appropriate metrics, KPIs, trending, cost control, comparison, what-if queries, etc.
  • Decision making authority to meet/exceed internal goals, i.e. constantly looking for margin improvement and cost saving opportunities.
  • Ensure all sites are maximizing savings opportunities, and maintain accuracy of all purchasing data.
  • Develop presentations for, and participate in cross-functional audits and business reviews and communicate to internal/external stakeholders as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Procurement/Supply chain or similar analytical field
  • 5+ yrs of relevant work experience
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel expertise
  • Statistical Analysis and Modeling experience / coursework
  • Team oriented, resourceful and fast learner
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with managing multiple priorities
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Effective time management, able to identify and prioritize tasks necessary to meet long and short-term objectives
  • Fluent in English

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerBI or similar BI program
  • MBA grad or candidate
