POSITION SUMMARY: Direct maintenance, electrical and engineering to meet short and long-range objectives with optimum efficiency. Plan maintenance / capital budgets through the identification of plant opportunities. Ensure project standards and guidelines are applied and adhered to as established. Focus on productivity improvements to attain cost optimization. Ensure regulatory compliance is maintained and documented. Develop and implement improved maintenance processes aimed at optimizing the overall productivity of the plant. Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to measure implementation and progress of goals. Drive culture of change from reactive to pro-active in the approach to asset management and reliability. Support Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) initiatives and awareness programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

Reliability and availability of plant assets and equipment

  • Directs and prioritizes needed repairs
  • Regularly advises production / plant management of needed equipment status and repair
  • Leads the identification of and resolve of equipment failures
  • Allocates resources appropriately in the face of competing demands
  • Effectively manage the selection and utilization of contractors

Champion maintenance department communications

  • Communicate effectively with all maintenance employees
  • Clearly establish and communicate the vision for the department
  • Creates a culture of trust and open communication

Leadership and Development of Maintenance Staff (Electricians and Mechanics)

  • Provide structure, direction and feedback to maintenance team
  • Readily share information and develop the maintenance team by delegating to their strengths
  • Set clear guidelines and expectations for the maintenance team
  • Be a positive leader that encourages cross-functional communication.
  • Drive culture change from reactive to pro-active in the approach to asset management and reliability.
  • Provide feedback to direct reports and of those managed through projects
  • Establish and communicate clear roles and job performance expectations

Direct Maintenance, electrical and engineering to meet short-and long-range objectives with optimum efficiency.

  • Plan maintenance/capital budgets through the identification of plant opportunities.
  • Ensure annual outages are planned, scheduled, executed, and closed.
  • Meet reliability, efficiencies and cost objectives as planned and budgeted.
  • Ensure project standards and guidelines are applied and adhered to as established.
  • Focus on productivity improvements to attain cost optimization.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance is maintained and documented.
  • Implement spares management best practices.
  • Develop and implement improved maintenance processes aimed at optimizing the overall productivity of the plant

Environmental, Health and Safety

  • Lead by example and demonstrate EH&S leadership
  • Ensures compliance of maintenance team with all EH&S standards, programs and requirements
  • Monitors workplace to ensure a safe and healthy environment
  • Demonstrate environmental and safety regulatory leadership. Support Environmental Health and Safety initiatives and awareness programs.
  • Ensure employees have a clear understanding of expected safety performance.
  • Be a leader and promoter of a safety culture

Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Must be capable of work any shift, overtime, seven days, or holidays, if needed. Solid daily attendance is required.
  • Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint software. Previous SAP knowledge is a plus.

Physical Demands include, but are not limited to:

  • Must be physically able to perform work assigned.
  • Must be physically capable of accessing all plant locations.
  • Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, noise and dust.
  • Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.
  • Will be working in an office environment, mining, and mineral processing environment.
  • The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Metallic Particles.
  • The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting.
  • Able to lift over 50 pounds.

Required Experience: Must have at least five to seven years previous leadership experience in a fast-paced heavy manufacturing, construction, and/or mining environment. Previous Pyro- processing experience is required. Development and implementation of reliability system and programs are required.

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor degree in Engineering or related technical field or demonstrated skills and ability and/or equivalent work experience in the field is desired.
