Minimum Qualifications Summary
Certification & Education
  • Spanish and English DLPT rating at a minimum of 3 on the ILR scale in all test areas (listening, reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Current International Passport
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a U.S. Government Passport, country and diplomatic clearances and long-term visas for travel within the JIATFS JOA prior to deployment.
Experience
  • Extensive knowledge of support of CIT and Joint Task Force operations for the JOA, and of the interrelationships between US Embassies, liaison offices, and Host Nation government officials with regard to diplomatic and customs and clearance requirements.
  • Working knowledge of US Air Force strategic lift concepts and capabilities.
Job Objective
The purpose of this requirement is to provide Logistics Support Services - CONUS and OCONUS within Joint Interagency task Force South (JIATFS) Joint Operations Area (JOA).
Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with logistics service providers, local customs officials, commercial transportation, and materiel handling equipment vendors, airfield and port officials, US Embassy Country Team, lodging and vehicle rental vendors and other persons who can enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the CIT mission.
  • Upon receipt from the Lead Senior Logistician, review J3 published long and short-range CIT Air Deployment Lay-Down Schedule on a weekly basis or as published to ensure air deployment schedule can be supported by the OCONUS Logisticians.
  • In coordination with the force providers and prior to aircraft arrival: identify, quantify, plan and coordinate logistics requirements, to include but not limited to:
lodging (12-16 crew per aircraft), communication requirements (cell phones), location to file flight plans, vehicle rental or other transportation requirements, fuel requirements, oxygen or other type air requirements, maintenance facilities, ramp parking locations and MHE, crane, forklift, flatbed rental locations.
  • In preparation of missions coordinate with local airport, security, and customs officials, Fixed-Base Operator (FBO) and commercial agencies in and around the Forward Operating Site (FOS) location of support to ensure all logistics requirements are met for a successful deployment.
  • Be onsite one-half hour prior to aircraft arrival to ensure aircraft support requirements are met; fueling, maintenance checks, lavatory services, etc; ensure local customs officials are informed and provide the necessary checks and services.
  • In coordination with the aircraft commander, develop schedule/times of logistics support requirements for the aircraft and crew (e.g., meeting times for maintenance personnel and aircrew at the airport, fuel, chemical holding tank services, engine starting cart, etc.), requirements and times for OCONUS Logisticians to coordinate with airfield Host Nation logistics/service providers.
  • Be on site one hour prior to aircraft departure.
  • Assist aircraft commander/ detachment lead as required to ensure all accounts are closed, paid, or that any discrepancies are identified to the aircraft commander for resolution.
  • Provide Customer Survey form to each departing aircraft commander/detachment lead and have the form filled out prior to aircraft departing.
  • Provide translation of host nation languages and possess a thorough understanding of the idiosyncrasies of the customs and cultures of each country which enables them to work closely with host nation organizations whose cooperation is critical to the successful execution of the counter illicit trafficking (CIT) mission.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, to include Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
