The Opportunity:

The part-time ENTRUST Laboratory Coordinator will be responsible for providing support for community-based research projects relating to transgender health through an NIH funded Director's award (PI: Cyrus, DP2 DA058436). Examples of responsibilities the coordinator will assume are to adhere to research project policies and procedures to enhance efficiency, and efficacy. They will assist the study team with deadline driven objectives such as IRB renewal and NIH progress reports and other related administrative responsibilities (e.g. completion of study forms and inventory/accountability for study materials). The coordinator will work with the PI and team on the development of lab presentations and other dissemination materials. The coordinator must also perform other related duties assigned or deemed appropriate by the PI, including but not limited to required University and College training or assisting with training of new TRUST staff members.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the day-to-day execution of the study.

  • Work with transgender populations in community-based and office-based settings, aiding in recruitment.

  • Assist in participant enrollment into the study, including confirming eligibility and consenting participants via telephone.

  • Assist with data collection, including scheduling and conducting all interviews.

  • Follow up with study participants.

  • Complete paperwork associated with study visits and cash incentive distribution.

  • Complete any IRB and training required by the university and/or the PI.

  • Work with the study Community Advisory Board on requested outreach activities and site visits.

  • Contribution to the preparation of presentations, research publications, conferences.

  • Assist study close out procedures.

  • Perform other related duties assigned or deemed appropriate by the Principal Investigators (PIs), including but not limited to required University and college trainings.

  • Attend weekly study meeting and other meetings as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Motivation to work on an interdisciplinary NIH funded team.

  • Strong skills in writing, communication, and team building.

  • Expertise in sexual and gender minority research is desirable.

  • Prefer candidate with the ability to communicate in both English and Spanish in order to work effectively with customers and team members
