$16.88 to $18.57 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. South Area/Melbourne/Travels Countywide. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Performs entry-level service work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic control devices.
REQUIREMENTS: Six (6) months of experience in outdoor maintenance or installation, including installing and/or repairing fences, road maintenance, or conducting underground utility locates. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must be able to successfully complete within six (6) months of employment, an OSHA-compliant forklift training class, which meets the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.178, and be able to safely operate a forklift. Must possess, or obtain within twelve (12) months of employment, a valid Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)/Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) certification and maintain said certification during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain within eighteen (18) months of employment, a valid International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Level I Signs and Markings certification and maintain said certification during the term of employment. Must be able at all times to properly wear and utilize all required personal protective equipment (PPE). Must be able to work planned and unplanned overtime and be able to respond to emergency calls on a rotational basis twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays. In the event of a hurricane, natural storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
