JOB SUMMARY
We are currently in need of an experienced and skilled Electrical Superintendent to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and repairing wiring, electrical fixtures and control equipment, as well as supervising and training electrician assistants on the job. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
  2. Perform electrical take off quantities from drawing.
  3. Ensure the correct material are installed per the project plans and specifications.
  4. Organize and assign tasks for electrical staff to perform duties. Ensure project timelines and schedules are maintained.
  5. Maintain compliance with current National Electric Code
  6. Inspect, commission and test components of electrical systems, including transformers, transfer switches and switch gears.
  7. Utilize blueprints, single-line diagrams and manufacturer’s installation manuals to complete assigned projects
  8. Prepare floor plan layouts or follow blueprints to determine location of equipment to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
  9. Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduits, junction boxes, switches, outlet boxes and switch boards using hand tools and special equipment such as mechanical drills, cutters, benders and threaders.
  10. Survey and troubleshoot complex electrical systems
  11. Prepare material quantity estimates based on engineered drawing package
JOB KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS 
  1. Considerable knowledge is required of standard concepts, practices/procedures in the construction and electrical installation field.
  2. Knowledge of electrical codes which typically apply to the work assignment.
  3. Knowledge of standard methods, materials, tools and equipment of the electrical trade.
  4. Knowledge of the potential occupational hazards connected with electrical work and the safety standards/practices which should be applied.
  5. Skill in the use of the tools of the electrical trade.
  6. Skill in diagnosing the cause of the electrical breakdowns.
  7. Skill in repairing and adjusting electrical devices.
  8. Ability to interpret and apply blueprints, schematics, maintenance manuals and assembly instructions.
  9. Ability to study and comprehend new technology.
  10. Ability to comprehend and use electrical mathematical formulas for power and voltage drop.
  11. Ability to work from ladders, scaffolds, hydraulic towers or in tunnels and crawl spaces.
  12. Ability to stoop, kneel or crouch
  13. Must be able to climb ladders up to 25 feet and work on lifts up to 40 feet
  14. Must be able to lift or carry loads up to 50 pounds
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION / JOB EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  1. Must be a licensed electrician and must be able to maintain current license.
  2. Minimum 5 years of Electrical superintendent experience required.
  3. OSHA 30 Certification preferred
  4. Must be able to pass pre-employment testing (drug and background) and have a valid driver’s license.
  5. Ability to travel out of town 100% of the time
