Job Description
Role purpose The Machine Learning Engineer role is part of our Global Product Biology team, which is part of the R&D organization responsible for the development of new Crop Protection (CP) solutions for growers worldwide. In this role you will:
Develop novel software image analysis solutions to provide non-subjective, quantitative data from agricultural fields through image analysis and processing. This could be through a combination of traditional image analysis and artificial intelligence (Deep Learning).
Build and deploy machine learning systems throughout our data analysis pipeline
Accountabilities
Write elegant, maintainable, reusable code for image analysis
Act as a subject matter expert in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and design of new image analysis systems and capabilities within the Global Product Biology team
Work directly with the image annotation team to ensure the images you need to create models are fit-for-purpose.
Develop, test, and deploy new machine learning models for computer vision applications
Qualifications
Proficiency with the fundamentals as well as state of the art methods in image analysis, computer vision, and machine learning
Ability to write maintainable, reusable code to develop high quality software and artificial intelligence systems
Strong programming skills in Python
Must be able to produce solutions independently in an organized manner and also be able to work in a team when required
Strong communication skills. Fluent in written and spoken English
Preferred technical capabilities
Experience with machine/deep learning frameworks like Tensorflow and PyTorch
Proficiency with remote sensing, location, mapping, and geospatial data
Proficiency with imaging system design and component selection
Understanding of QGIS, git, and AWS
