Job Summary

The Graham Center is currently recruiting a student to join their team of professionals. The duties include:

  • Responsible for the opening & closing procedures of the Information Center.
  • Ensures that staff reports in uniform and with name badge.
  • Assist with preparing staff schedules for the semester.
  • Assists with the development of individual staff task lists and responsibilities.
  • Ensures staff coordinates tardiness, and works all assigned shifts.
  • Assists with monthly staff meeting, agenda, and participates in training sessions and staff meetings.
  • Assists with and maintains the Lost & Found items and coordinates with Public Safety and Property Control for item submission in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of bulletin boards, new stands and display units.
  • Assist with preparing annual reports for the Information Center.
  • Assist to upkeep of the area.
  • Reports malfunction of the plasma screens to IT.
  • Be aware of the operating hours for business services and offices.
  • Be aware of university deadlines for Financial Aid, Registration, Add/Drop period, Entrance Application, etc.
  • Assist with ordering supplies for unit and ensures inventory of supplies, maps, etc.

Who May Apply

Students enrolled at FIU, who have been awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) as part of their Financial Aid Award package.

Student must be enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours in a course of study leading to a degree or a Financial Aid eligible certificate, during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.

Upon graduating, FWS employment must end.

Work Schedule

Hours will vary based on class schedule and needs of the department.
