Job Description

Department: PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT Organizational Unit: Engineering (50000088)

Position Type: Permanent Full Time/Part Time: Full Time

Open Until Filled.

$13.01 to $14.31 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Central Area/Merritt Island/Travels Countywide. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and requires mandatory twenty-four (24) hour standby on a rotational basis in order to respond to emergencies. Performs experienced service work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic control devices.

REQUIREMENTS: Six (6) months of experience in outdoor maintenance or installation, including installing and/or repairing fences, road maintenance, or conducting underground utility locates. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain within eighteen (18) months of employment, a current International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Level I Signs and Markings certification. In the event of a hurricane, natural storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
