Job Description

Embry-Riddle Athletics is seeking applicants for the 2024-25 Videography & Creative Content Internship. We are looking for an intern with a versatile skillset, who is willing to learn and bring a positive attitude to the workplace to help build upon the three pillars of the external department. (Build the Brand, Drive Revenue, Increase Attendance) Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is an NCAA Division ll institution and competes in the Sunshine State Conference.

Job Description

  • Capture high-quality video footage of athletic events, including games, matches, and tournaments, using professional camera equipment.
  • Film practices, training sessions, and behind-the-scenes footage to provide insight into the athletic program and showcase student-athlete performance.
  • Conduct interviews with coaches, players, and staff to create engaging content for promotional videos, feature stories, and social media.
  • Edit and enhance video footage using industry-standard software to produce compelling highlight reels, game recaps, and promotional videos.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to develop video concepts, storyboards, and scripts for various projects.
  • Ensure all video content adheres to brand guidelines and reflects the department's values and objectives.
  • Collaborate on the design and creation of static and dynamic digital marketing collateral (i.e. social media, promotional, and website graphics, etc.).
  • Maintain and organize video archives, including footage, graphics, and project files, for future reference and use.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies in videography and sports media production to continually improve the department's video content.
  • Assist other departments and operational areas with content request forms.
  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends.
  • Support all facets of Embry-Riddle game day as needed.
  • Support all needs of Embry-Riddle external department as needed.
  • Assists in special events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Fans First mindset
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, etc.)
  • Previous experience in capturing and editing video content
  • Understanding of social media platforms, trends, and strategy (Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube)
  • Strong willingness to learn and work in a team environment
  • Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills
  • Ability to influence and build working relationships among diverse individuals.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to create and maintain very specific timelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous intercollegiate athletics or professional sports experience.

A creative piece is required for submission. Please include two forms of creatives with your application submission.

Compensation:

Interns receive a total compensation of $21,840 for the duration of the internship. In addition, this internship offers an optional university meal plan (taxable). This internship does not include any fringe benefits such as housing or health insurance.

Duration:

10 Months: July, 2024 through May, 2025
