Position Overview

We are currently seeking a quality focused, results-oriented Senior Staff Accountant who will be responsible for driving the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. The ideal candidate will have a BS degree in accounting, a related degree or equivalent experience as well as a minimum of 5 years of experience in the accounting field. Knowledge of Deltek Costpoint is a significant plus.

Additionally, this candidate will actively support program management teams responsible for managing a variety of challenging short to long-term programs. They must be able to work well & provide value-adding financial planning & analysis within teams to achieve a common objective. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated history of identifying areas of improvement & implementing solutions. This role also requires knowledge of project cost accounting and government contract accounting.


Responsibilities / Duties
  • Drive the month end closing process and coordinate action items with responsible team members.
  • Ensure accuracy of financial statements and transactions by leading account reconciliation process.
  • Generate month end closing reports and associated analysis to executive management.
  • Maintains ERP System (Deltek Costpoint) via serving as key contact for all system-related topics.
  • Maintains and coordinates the implementation of accounting procedures.
  • Coordinates internal and external activities (including financial statement audits & DCAA/DCMA requests).
  • Ensure compliance with purchase process via coordination of purchasing activities with project teams.
  • Support project teams with all financial related matters including new order processing and customer billings.
  • Supports other accounting team member processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and payroll.
  • Cross training on government billing
  • Other projects and assignments as requested



Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Degree in Accounting Preferred) - May consider experience in lieu of degree
  • Computer skills: MS Office, Deltek Costpoint, E-Banking, etc. at a high proficient level
  • Aptitude for numbers and exceptional commitment to accuracy

  • Experience with various contract types (FFP, T&M, CPFF)
  • Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) DoD knowledge
  • Minimum 10-15 years' experience for Government Contractor, supporting Federal Contracts

Physical Demands
  • Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards
  • Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds occasionally and walk short distances. Repetitive motion, Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing: viewing a computer monitor; extensive reading
