LOCATION - Hybrid/Remote

We understand that life happens and strive to make it easier for employees to juggle work, family and life demands so they can define what fulfillment means to them. As part of our investment in our employees, this role is eligible to participate in Tepa's Hybrid OR Remote Work Program, which allows remote work up to 2 days per week (i.e., work remotely up to 2 days per week; work in-office at least 3 days per week).



ABOUT THE JOB

The Tepa Companies are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to oversee structural engineering designs of all types of structures and/or facilities for government, commercial and private clients. Responsibilities include development of construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit. Selection of building gravity and lateral systems. Designs may include facility design, working closely with other disciplines, or may be stand-alone structural projects such as retaining walls. Candidate will help manage junior staff, including engineers and/or drafters. Projects may include travel, field measurements/data gathering, calculations and/or drafting by the engineer.

Job Responsibilities

  • Produces plans, reports, and specifications
  • Assists in developing drafting and project standards
  • Assists in preparation of cost estimates
  • Assists in preparation of inspection reports
  • Performs quality control and quality assurance
  • Performs structural calculations for design of buildings and retaining walls
  • Performs structural drafting
  • Works closely with junior engineering and drafting staff


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or similar from Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology accredited college or university
  • A minimum of ten (10) years' experience
  • Licensed Professional Civil Engineer or Structural Engineer in Florida, with ability to become licensed PE in other states within 6 months of hire
  • 10+ years of design experience in at the state, local, or Federal government markets
  • Previous military experience preferred
  • AutoCAD and Revit experience is desirable
  • Capability of working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
