Job Summary

The Director of Revenue Cycle: Front End is a public facing representative, responsible for direct oversight and direction associated with hospital registration operations and provides leadership, direction, and support for developing, implementing, and managing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Registration operations. The leader will work closely with all Operational areas such as Clinical Services, Admitting & Registration, Case Management, Corporate Compliance, and HIM to apply new and emerging approaches for Registration services areas. The Director will provide leadership and insight with regard to the development of technology and initiatives that improve the effectiveness of the Registration team(s) and enhances patient experience by meeting the service needs of all departments, patients, and customers.

The Director of Revenue Cycle: Front End will actively look for partnering opportunities with leadership throughout the system to transform the patient experience with a focus on improving both patient access and satisfaction as well as providing leadership and accountability for strategic business units that impact patient access and service pillars of the organization. The Director will also maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending conferences, reviewing professional publications, and establishing rapport with professional societies. This position will accomplish hospital goals by accepting ownership and accountability for 26 full-time admitting and registration employees within the (JHACH) Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital, and co-leading/guiding registration leaders/employees within the (JHACH) Johns Hopkins All Children's Ambulatory Service Centers. The Director serves and protects the hospital community by ensuring adherence to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state and local requirements, and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization (JHAHO) standards.

Serves as liaison between the Johns Hopkins Health System Patient Financial Services/Financial Clearance/Financial Counseling, Patient Relations, Care Coordination, Finance Departments, Epic Grand Central and Registration, as well as clinical operations and leadership to address admitting/registration related concerns. The incumbent will also maintain close professional relationship with Institute Leaders as well as Ambulatory leadership at JHACH to ensure a positive patient financial experience as well as provide a single point of contact for all front-end related initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, or related field. Master's Degree is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10+ years of progressively responsible related experience in patient access services, registration, scheduling, financial clearance, regulatory compliance and revenue cycle oversight including 3-5 years of management experience.
  • CHAM - Certified Healthcare Access Manager from NAHAM or similar approved certification within one year of employment
