General Purpose
Plant Accountant
This position will share responsibility for accounts payable and receivable to support the daily accounting activities of the Cooperative, its month-end process, year-end audit process and various special projects; general ledger transactions and reports, balancing, reconciliations; depreciation, tax reports, cash receipts and disbursements, fixed assets, and asset management.
Plant Accountant Manager
This position will act as SECO Energy's subject matter expert in plant accounting, providing training and support to all departments regarding work order procedures, accuracy in material, assembly units and asset recordkeeping, etc. This position will support accounts payable and receivable, daily accounting activities of the Cooperative, its month-end process, year-end audit process and various special projects; general ledger transactions and reports, balancing, reconciliations; depreciation, tax reports, cash receipts and disbursements, fixed assets, and asset management as needed.

Plant Accountant
Education
Minimum | 4 Year / Bachelors Degree | Major: | Accounting or related discipline, or equivalent training and experience. |
Minimum | Completion of RUS Borrower Accounting course within three (3) years of hire date. | ||
Minimum | Completion of NRECA Workorder and Plant Accounting Procedures course within three (3) years of hire date or equivalent experience. | ||
Preferred | Other | Major: | Master's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration with a concentration in accounting. |
Experience
Minimum | Five (5) plus years of experience with the following: Plant accounting, asset management, accounts payable and accounts receivable experience; general ledger accounting; cost accounting principles, balancing, and reconciling accounts. |
Minimum | Advanced proficiency in related accounting/business applications. |
Preferred | Accounting experience, or similar work with an electric utility or related industry. |
Plant Accountant Manager
Education
Minimum | 4 Year / Bachelors Degree | Major: | Accounting, Finance or related discipline, or equivalent training and experience. |

Experience
Minimum | Six (6) plus years of experience with the following: Plant accounting, asset management, accounts payable and accounts receivable experience; general ledger accounting; cost accounting principles, balancing, and reconciling accounts with multiple years of direct related experience in plant accounting or related role, preferably within the electric utility industry. |
Minimum | Advanced proficiency in related accounting/business applications. |
Preferred | Supervisory experience. |
Preferred | Accounting experience, or similar work with an electric utility or related industry. |
Preferred | RUS or FERC accounting experience. |
