HEICO is currently recruiting a Senior Director of New Product Development for its Seal Dynamics Business Unit, located in Tampa, FL. The position will report to the SVP of Business Development/General Manager.

PRIME RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a team that closely collaborates with Engineering, Quality, and FAA Certification personnel to evaluate product viability and supplier capabilities to manufacture selected parts in a cost-effective and timely manner.
  • Research and obtain new sources, methods, and vendors to ensure a reliable supply of new product types for PMA development.
  • Closely collaborate with the New Product Development Manager to prepare, manage, and analyze airline usage data files in search of new product development opportunities and then prepare and justify business cases to launch the product development process to the senior leadership team.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive a concept-to-customer process that brings new products to market on time and within budget.
  • Identify new targets for development by analyzing market data, customer consumption reports, aircraft maintenance manuals, customer bids, and overall market demand.
  • Qualify new products for development to efficiently determine market value, development costs/risks, and overall project financial viability.
  • Define and implement the organization's overall strategy for supplier identification for the development of new products.
  • Lead operations that build value-driven supplier partnerships focusing on risk management, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders to define material, quality, and KPIs to measure and evaluate supplier performance.
  • Support sales personnel, as needed, on visits to airline Engineering, Purchasing and Maintenance personnel.
  • Attend new product kick off meetings and Engineering Project Status Meetings.
  • Attend and support corporate meetings as required.
  • Attend and support meetings at airline and MRO customers as needed.
  • Work closely with Seal Dynamics Distribution team members to support strategic partners.

EDUCATION / PRIOR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's (BS) Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering or Business, from an accredited college or university.
  • At least 10+ years or aviation experience. Extensive knowledge of aircraft parts, documentation and FAA certification processes is required.
  • Experience selling to, and/or working with, airline personnel offers a significant advantage.
  • Demonstrated keen understanding of the commercial aircraft and MRO market is a plus.
  • A superior level of understanding and experience with manufacturing methods and processes related to the creation of a wide variety of aircraft parts, including engine, airframe, and interior items. Understanding of costs associated with various manufacturing methods.
  • Moderate domestic and international travel to airlines, MRO shops, and various airline/MRO conferences, and existing/potential suppliers.
  • Understand and drive decisions based on financial, resource capacity, suppliers, and market factors.
  • Goal-oriented and self-motivated with solid organizational skills and strict attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey information and ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Must have strong follow-up skills and the ability to develop productive business relationships via the phone, e-mail, and in person.
  • Strong analytical skills and solution-driven thinking. Ability to collect and research data and use intuition and experience to complement the data.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Emphasis on Excel, PowerPoint, & PowerBI).
  • Ability to prioritize, balance, and manage multiple items with deadlines, while delivering effective results.
