Job Description

The Practice Manager role involves delivering client services on a full-time basis, with potential overtime required to meet job and client obligations. As the Practice Manager, you're expected to hold at least one of the following designations: CISA, CISSP, QSA, CISM, CPA, PCI QSA, ISO 27000 LA. Your main responsibilities encompass coordinating cybersecurity and compliance assessment services, overseeing projects and teams, and participating in the overall management of the cybersecurity professional services practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise projects, teams, and clients related to our array of service offerings (SOC reporting, PCI, HIPAA, ISO 27000, NIST 800-53/171, HITRUST, Vendor Privacy Assurance, GDPR, and various other risk-focused projects).
  • Strategize, execute, conclude, and manage various cybersecurity assessment and compliance projects, adapting your approach to each project's distinct requirements and circumstances.
  • Manage a portfolio of concurrent projects, including managing schedules and administrative tasks. Create and review comprehensive audit reports detailing performed procedures, testing outcomes, control vulnerabilities, and potential risk exposure.
  • Apply your expertise to document and evaluate computer information systems for clients, providing recommendations to enhance technology systems and infrastructure.
  • Ensure that information systems, applications, infrastructure, and controls are operating as intended.
  • Conduct integrated reviews of financial, accounting, operational, systems, and management controls based on risk analysis.
  • Contribute to multiple projects at different stages, culminating in delivering final results.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients and team members, promoting effective client and employee retention strategies.
  • Cultivate a collaborative team environment.
  • Coach, train, and develop less-experienced team members.
  • Conduct detailed reviews of workpapers, reports, proposals, and materials to ensure high-quality outputs.
  • Undertake original work in complex technical areas when required.
  • Be open to traveling to client sites as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Hold a degree in Management Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Possess at least one of the following certifications: CPA, CISA, CISM, CISSP, ISO 27000 LA, PCI QSA.
  • Demonstrate a minimum of 4 years of experience in cybersecurity compliance, security assessment, or architecture design/review.
  • Present executive presence with clients, coupled with strong written and technical skills. Effective coaching and mentoring of junior team members is essential.
  • Act as a motivating team leader, capable of meeting project deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Hold a minimum of two years of senior-level professional services experience within a relevant practice.
  • Have 1-3 years of supervisory or management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possess an MBA or MS from a respected full-time or executive program (highly desirable).
  • Exhibit a willingness to pursue additional professional certifications like CPA, CISA, CISM, CISSP, ISO 27000 LA, PCI QSA, HITRUST CCSFP, etc.
  • Display familiarity with various cybersecurity frameworks, application controls, software development life cycles, and methodologies.
  • Demonstrate entrepreneurial skills, prioritize a client-centered approach, display industry insights, and exhibit the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
  • Successfully complete a minimum of 25 professional services projects aligned with our service offerings.
  • Consistently uphold cultural values, principles, and a strong work ethic.
  • Possess proven technical aptitude vital for scoping and executing projects.

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
  • office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
