Job Summary

It is the responsibility of the Quality Assurance department to be KB's internal and external customer representative, by ensuring that the methods and processes utilized by KB meet or exceed company defined internal/external customer requirements, and to report the status of KB processes, with respect to meeting these requirements, to Management.

Job Description

  • The QC Auditor is responsible for performing end of cell final inspections and final shipping inspections, sampling only unless otherwise directed by the QC Manager, for all completed manufacturing orders. The Auditor shall verify the product has been manufactured, labeled, serialized, tested and packed per applicable manufacturing documentation.

  • Ensure the level of achieved production quality adheres to standards set by KB's quality process, IPC-A-610 Class 2 "Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies," as a minimum, on all products leaving the manufacturing facility.

  • Facilitate the Continual Improvement Process - Assist with and/or implement changes with KB's processes.
  • Follow and implement ECN's (Engineering Change Orders) for the Quality Assurance Department. Responsible to maintain document control on Production Forms, Work Instructions and Quality Check documents.

  • Process Evaluation - Ensure the effectiveness of processes designed to meet internal/external customer requirements.
  • Complete inventory transfers, look up Bills of Materials, and other necessary inventory transactions in Oracle.
  • Maintain and complete task in the Non-Conforming Material system. This includes working with buyers to acquire Return Material Authority and disposition non-conforming material.
  • Maintain and complete monthly and quarterly reports on Time to Failure. Also maintain the master defect table. Will work with repair department to assign root cause to the data.
  • Perform QC visual inspections on returns and able to build data table.
  • Use Lean and Six Sigma problem solving tools to identify root cause, determine corrective action, and assist in the implementation a validation of corrective actions. Use the 8D CAR process per customer request.

  • It is the responsibility of the QC Auditors to assist with all audits performed to ensure the quality and workmanship of products and to facilitate corrective actions per KB procedures when anomalies are detected.

  • It is the responsibility of all members of the Quality Assurance Department to adhere to KB approved methods and procedures while performing their day-to-day activities. All members of the QC department are required to address all matters concerning quality brought to their attention by a KB employee and to provide feedback to any employee who has stated a quality concern.

  • Document Control - Ensure adequate documentation to support internal/external customer requirements.

Additional Job Details

Education

Essential

  • HS Graduate/ G.E.D.

Desirable

  • A.S. in Electronics Engineering or an Electronics Certification

Qualifications

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Advanced Excel skills

Desirable

  • Statistical Analysis
  • Process evaluation and optimization
  • Lean, Six Sigma proficiency

Experience

Essential

  • Five years successful experience working in electronics manufacturing.
  • IPC-A-610 Certified

Desirable

  • Experience working in a Lean, Six Sigma environment.

Languages

  • Bilingual a plus but not required
