Job Description:

The CIPP Equipment Technician operates and maintains vacuum trucks, boiler, CUES cameras, tractors, and cutting system to execute cleaning, TV work, and service reinstatement required for pipe rehabilitation projects. The CIPP Equipment Technician may also work on a maintenance crew, CIPP prep crew or a CIPP lining crew, and may perform a variety of tasks involving manual labor.

A Day in the Life

  • Conducts center to center manhole identifications using robotic TV equipment per NASSCO standards.

  • Identifies defects and service locations.

  • Accurately completes reports and submits daily logs.

  • Ensures deliverables and associated reports are turned in daily.

  • Executes cleaning and TV work required for projects.

  • Distributes notices to residents and businesses as instructed.

  • Adheres to all customer site specific safety requirements.

  • Services, cleans, and maintains camera and cutting equipment as well as assigned vehicles.

  • Communicates with the jet operator and TV labor in coordinating workflow.

  • Operate vacuum trucks and the lines on the truck for standard & heavy cleaning of pipelines.

  • Operate and maintain processing equipment (steam or water).

  • Perform standard and heavy cleaning with Vactor Jet truck for CIPP lining operations on various types of pipelines.

  • Completes water meter installations.

  • Assembles and disassembles housings and couplings.

  • Provides timely and accurate documentation for reporting safety issues, equipment damage and workplace injuries, according to company policies and procedures.

  • Regular participation in training for construction methods and safety.


What You'll Need

  • Current Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with no restrictions including a DOT Medical card required.

  • Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in heavy construction work.

  • Must be able to enter confined spaces - examples include but are not limited to Manholes

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Preferred

  • 2+ Yrs. CIPP Experience

  • OSHA 10 or Higher


Other

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.

  • Valid Driver's License and ability to maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Position requires regular 10 to 12+ hour workdays and occasional weekends, as needed. Must be flexible regarding work hours. Shift normally starts at 6:30am and goes until the work is done for the day. May be required to work nights at times.

  • Possess a clean driving record over the last 3 years and successful completion of a pre-employment background check, including a physical and drug screen.

  • Position requires 75-100% travel within the State of Florida and southeast U.S. (Hotels and per diem provided).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly, up to 75 pounds occasionally, and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. Often required to sit, stand, walk, bend knees, stretch arms, talk, and hear. Occasionally required to stoop or kneel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Able to work extended hours (up to 12 per day) during peak periods.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those employees encountered while performing the essential functions of this job. Employee is exposed to environmental conditions, working near machines and loud noises associated with construction sites. Exposed to variable weather conditions including rain, snow, wind, cold and heat. Also exposed to variable terrain. Work is performed outdoors. Employee will be exposed to outdoor temperatures conducive to Southeastern United States including excessive heat.
