Company OverviewFlorida's Blood Centers (FBC), was established on April 2, 1942, shortly after the start of World War II. During its 60 years, FBC has consistently provided the communities it serves with a safe and adequate blood supply. Today, FBC is the sole supplier of blood and blood products to over 70 healthcare facilities in a 21-county area. With its 959 employees, the not-for-profit 501(C3) organization provides more than 360,000 units of blood and blood products each year donated entirely by volunteers. FBC remains the largest blood bank in Florida and the fourth largest independent blood bank in the nation.Florida's Blood Centers' Mission Florida's Blood Centers' mission is to provide safe and adequate blood supply to our hospitals, to support world-class collaborative medical research into human disease, and to improve the quality of life for its employees, partners, donors, and community. Our Benefits For full-time and part-time (with benefits) employees Medical Insurance A generous 3 tier medical insurance plan. Dependent/Spouse coverage available. Long Term Disability Company pays 100% for employee coverage. Life Insurance Company pays 100% for employee coverage. Policy equals 1 1/2 times annual salary plus an additional $5,000. Dependent Spouse coverage is available. Paid Time Off (PTO) Full-time employees accrue PTO at a rate equal to 26 days per year. Part-time with accrue 21 to 26 days per year. Dental Insurance Optional: Employee pays premium. 4O1(k) Savings Plan Employee may contribute up to 100% of pay. Company will match first 6% dollar for dollar. Discretionary contributions may be made by the company. Tuition Reimbursement Up to $650 per calendar year for courses that add value to position and obtained through an approved and accredited institute of higher learning after one year of employment. |
